Master Craftsman

In most industries, there are many ways to gain recognition among one’s peers and to achieve a higher level of success in mastering your craft. This is true within the professional photography profession. That’s why Bruce and Brian Muncy are members of the Professional Photographers of America, Virginia Professional Photographers Association and Professional Photographers of Ohio of which Bruce is a lifetime member awarded for his service to the organization. Bruce and Brian both attend seminars and workshops presented by these professional organizations to further their education, discover new products and ideas and to expand their creativity and art. Through continuing education professional photographers like Bruce and Brian can earn their professional degrees based upon many criteria on both the state, regional and national level. The Professional Photographers of America is the largest non-profit photographic association in the world, and offers a variety of professional degrees and merits. Needless to say, a professional degree from PPA holds a lot of prestige in the photography industry. Our state organization also offers the opportunity to receive degrees and merits. Brian is expected to receive his first degree from VPPA in February.

Many of you may or may not know, that Bruce holds a Master’s Craftsman Degree from PPA. The Master Craftsman Degree is one of the highest degrees which PPA awards. One can spend years attempting to earn a Master Craftsman Degree. Achieving a dual degree is not only based upon image quality but, other accomplishments, speaking, teaching, and furthering your education. For the past 27 years, Bruce has been the only Master Craftsman of Photography in the Roanoke Valley. He is also a “Associate” Fellow of the American Society of Photographers and was one of the first 26 photographers in the United States to be so awarded.

A ROOM WITH A VIEW

Saturday morning at 8am Brian & I had the priveledge to photograph
the Doherty Family, Michael, Emily, Alex and Teddy. We carried one of their
chairs from the living room outside to their backyard to create this "Room
with a View" portrait. So think about some creative ways we can create a
very special portriat for your family. I think you will agree that we captured
the view from the Doherty's back yard and the chair added that touch of
something different and gave us a fun way to arrange the family group.
