A GIFT FROM MUNCY FINE PHOTOGRAPHY

GREAT BRBC EXPO

If you didn't attend you missed a great expo. We had 30 vendors
at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood. The expo was from 10:30 till
1pm with a light lunch provided. Lots of great contacts were made
with the 67 visitors that attended. I had a great time and met
some really nice folks.

350 PHOTO DRAWS AWARENESS

On Saturday at 4:30pm I had the privilege of being the

photographer to photograph the participants of the Inter-

national Day of Climate Action spelling out 350. The photograph

was taken from the bridge on Jefferson Street toward the field

where Victory Stadium once stood. The 350 refers to our Valleys

carbon footprint. If you read the article in the Roanoke Times,

I was mentioned as the elevated photo taken. I had fun and it was

as beautiful day with a lot of caring citizens.

REBECCA & KIP

We had the pleasure to create some portraits

of Rebecca Doss and her horse Kip. The location

was Meadow Wood Farms, where Rebecca and

Kip train. We had great weather and a lot of fun

making noise so Kip's ears would be in the proper

position. Come by the studio and seed the finished

framed portrait hanging in our gallery.

DJ & SHIRLEY ENGAGED

This was a fun shoot. We photographed DJ & Shirley

at their request out at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

They liked the architecture there and we created this

lovely image of them at one of the mausoleums on the

grounds. They are getting married in Las Vegas and we

wish them continued happiness.

FAMILY PORTRAIT TIME

Fall is here and its family portrait time. The Gardner Family

photographed this weekend at the VWCC Arboretum. Call us

MOMMY TO BE

This is my lovely daughter Sara. What a joy
for me as her father to be able to create a
beautiful portrait of her and my granddaughter
to be. As a photographer we tell stories with our
images and it is not very often to we have the opportunity
to be so personally involved in a story like this. It seems it
was not to long ago I held her as a newborn, so now to see
her as a mother is just unbelievable to me and a real blessing.

YWCA DIRECTOR CAPTURED

Melissa Weedon Woodson, Director of the YWCA,

wanted me to create a portrait of her like the ones

I do for the "Women of Achievement". I believe I

captured her gentle spirit and of course her red hair!

I had the pleasure to photograph some of the Rescue Missions

new 2nd Helpings Cafe food items for a display. Joy Sylvester-

Johnson assisted me in photographing 19 different shots. We

had a lot of fun and of course there was some sampling going

on too. I encourage everyone to stop by next Monday for their

opening. They are serving breakfast and lunch. And while you

MEGAN, SPRING MODEL

This is Megan one of our Class of 2010 Spring Models.

NEW BACKGROUND SAMPLES

This is a sample of the different looks that lighting can do

with just one background. The door is an accent piece that

we can remove for a different look entirely. Or we can use

it to add more dimension to the scence.

This is our new beige/brown background. The first image

is with a background light added to brighten the background

and the 2nd image the light is removed. Same background

two different looks. Again the door can be interchanged to

add more depth or be used as a design element.

NEW HAND PAINTED BACKGROUNDS

Faux artist Maria Driscoll hand painted four new

sets for us. These are some work in progress images

showing her work. Stay tuned for the completed

background photographs.

'WE GOT THE BLUES"

We just returned from our annual Virginia Professional Photographers Association (VPPA) Convention/Competition in Portsmouth, VA. Brian and I had a combination of 5 blue ribbons and 4 red ribbons plus a "Court of Honor" award. The above photographs are our blue ribbon winners and the "Museum Atrium" won the "Court of Honor" for best architectural photograph.

We are constantly trying to create great images for our clients. To have our photographs judged by our peers and win awards is very satisfying. As our customers we want you to know that we care about what we do and want give you an award winning image as well, because we care about you too.

JOHN & BUSTER

One of the great joys as a photographer is creating a portrait with a special story. John had contacted me about photographing him and his dog Buster. I had John come by the studio to show him samples and to talk about his relationship with his dog. I asked John tell me a little about Buster. John looked at me with tears welling up in his eyes and said "I don't think I can talk about that". After sometime talking about other things like print sizes and frames, John told me that Buster had cancer. He wanted a photograph of them in a field where they go walking at Green Hill Park in Salem. So here are two images we created for John and Buster. This is why we do what we do. It is always the story behind the request that helps us create something very special.
